Framer Level 1
The Framer is a skilled craftsman who is responsible for building the structure of a residential or commercial property . The Framers work must be level and true, ensuring that the other trades have a good base upon which to perform their work.
Ensure work area is clean and hazard-free
Assists all components of floor systems.
Assists in building and install all components of wall systems
Work towards obtaining the necessary experience, skills, knowledge and certification and/or training to qualify for carpenter level 2.
Display willingness to learn new skills and building methods.
Follow safety and operational directions from both carpenter level 2 and carpenter level 3 employees.
1 year of construction experience working as a labourer or shadowing a carpenter.
Completion of secondary school.
Relevant geometric, algebraic and math skills are needed for measuring materials and reading blueprints.
Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required for cutting, shaping and joining materials.
